My husband, two children and I stayed here in mid February and I can’t say enough good things about our experience. Helene and Jean are such warm and generous hosts. They made us feel so welcome and taken care of during our entire stay that we were all sad to leave. Every morning, after a beautiful breakfast Helene would help us plan our activities for the day and make reservations if necessary. I wish we had more time to spend in Gascony because I felt like four days just gave us a small taste of what the region has to offer. The house itself is lovely and comfortable. We stayed in the Fleurs d’Aurore Suite which was just perfect for two adults and two kids. There is a refrigerator and microwave available just for guests so it is easy to store and fix all the goodies you find at the markets and nearby farms. If you have an opportunity have dinner at Les Bruhasses, don’t pass it up. We ate at a number of highly recommended restaurants during our ten days in France and the dinner we had with Helene and Jean was the best meal we ate, by FAR. Helene cooks with skill, knowledge and care. The meal we had was full of regional specialities beautifully and creatively prepared and served with wines from the family vineyard. Delightful!
Thank you Helene and Jean for everything!

We had a lovely visit to Les Bruhasses, the Maison d’Hotes. The bedroom was large with all that we could need for the stay. It was peaceful, comfortable and very relaxing. Helene and Jean are the perfect hosts and were able to give great recommendations for towns to visit, Armagnac producers to visit and had inside knowledge of the best restaurants in the area. The breakfast was very memorable, with a homemade jams and cakes as well as fresh bread and delicious croissants. We hope to visit in the Spring and Summer when we can get out and explore the beautiful countryside.

My wife and I decided that it was a good idea to explore Gascony in late November without an itinerary and we were right, but at first we didn’t know why. There are no visitors to Gascony in late November, but there should be. We intended to spend one night at Les Bruhasses when we arrived, but we ended up staying 3. If your plan is to explore all of the hidden gems Gascony has to offer, you will have arrived at the right place. If there is another couple in the area who know more about Gascony than our hosts Hélène and Jean Royer, I would like to meet them. You will feel like you have arrived at a castle and that the King and Queen of Gascony have decide to serve you personally. Set on a number of acres, off the beaten path, Les Bruhasses is a great place to launch your Gascony exploration. When you return at night you will be treated to complete tranquillity and one of the most comfortable beds we have experienced. Do not pass up experiencing real comfort and hospitality if you are in this area at this Maison d’hotes, and by the way, late November is when the armagnac is being distilled and Hélène and Jean know the owners of Chateaux de Millet. They might be able to arrange a tour. We had no idea until we put ourselves in their capable hands.

My wife and I stayed here for the 2nd time in late October. This is a wonderful place to stay; not just because it is beautiful property in a beautiful setting but because of the warmth of the welcome and the care provided by Jean and Hélène. That care is demonstrated in many ways: well appointed and maintained rooms, external areas to laze, lovely gardens, generous breakfasts and a guest kitchen for tea and coffee. Just as importantly, they make the time to talk to all their guests sharing their knowledge and love of the region. Hélène provides detailed touring routes for her guests so that they can explore the many beautiful villages and the gorgeous countryside of the Gers. She also prepares a marvellous dinner when gust numbers and timing allow. If it is available: make sure you participate. The food is terrific and you get the opportunity to meet and talk to other travellers. We could not recommend this property more highly.

We loved this beautiful, comfortable and altogether delightful B and B style inn on a gorgeous, rose-filled garden. The outside of the building is ancient – inside, the proprietors have completely and stylishly thought of everything- beautiful bathroom, large comfy bedroom with a writing desk and in our room – Ballade de Reve, in one of the towers – a charming sitting room on the first floor. Jean and Helene have thought of EVERYTHING – there is a comfortable chair every place you want to sit, an umbrella every place you want to avoid the sun, a path everywhere you want to walk. The breakfast was stunning; we had dinner one night (it’s by pre-arrangement, not every evening) and it was a rival to a meal we’d had in Paris. We’ve never had a more thoughtful, warm and generous hotel stay. Helene grew up in the region and knows everyone and every place and was so delightfully helpful with maps, reservations, etc. We loved every minute and can’t wait to return.

This was a lovely place to stay in an area of France with lots to do, we only wish we had had more time there. Helene and Jean were great hosts and offered much help when we arrived, their reccommendation to a local place to eat was perfect. The room was comfortable and quiet, the breakfast was perfect and we hope to be able to return for a longer stay, sooner rather than later
